Upon restart the screen resolution changed and using system settings it will not let me change it back. The monitor settings can not be used. When I tried another OS it was at the proper setting. So it appears not to be tghe monitor. Any ideas as to how this can be resolved? I had not reset anything before last shutting down. The resolution was supposed to be 1680 x 1050 but it was changed to 1200 by something. I am on another OS because it made using Neon very difficult.
Thanks for any tme and effort spent on this. |

Could you please be a tad more specific about your setup? I don't know your screen resolution or screen type or graphic car, nor did you indicate your Plasma version or distribution.
Bear with me, with the information you gave in your post I can only guess, and it would be a very very wild guess... FWIW: no I don't remember what you said in your last post or if you actually mentioned your setup in one. I read several dozen forum entries a day from at least as many people, if I had to memorize each and every one ...
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Hi,
First thanks for all you do for the community. I will restate my problem and add details. the screen resolution changed on me when I started the nex day. I had made not changes other than updating. I tried another OS and there was no problem there. i Also restarted the machine with Neon and it still had the same resolution. My normal resolution is 1680x1050 and was tgurned into 1200x something. The screen is greatly magnified as expected. I have15.6 G of ram and a core i5-6600 running at 3.5GH. Geoforce 610. I am on Kubuntu at the moment but will go to Neo and get some of the facts that would be different here. So I will come back and update this asap. tis my birthday today so company will not appreciate me being away too long. Sorry I did not think of this. Could hardly read the info on Neon butg here is what I got. frameworks 5.66.0 Core temp 27.8 QT version 5.15.2 Kernel 5.3.0-26 generic OS 64 bit I have an asus card inside |

hi!
are you using propietary drivers? there`s problems with 5.3 kernel, you can use the open drivers instead. sudo apt remove --purge *nvidia* You can remove privative drivers with this command |

Visone thanks so much for reponding to my inquiry. I will be installing Neon again when it is updated to the newest Ubuntu coming in the Spring. At the moment it would be unusable. Thanks, your willingness to help is what a good community is all about.
