Hey guys,
I am running into two problems with neon, I haven't had before with kubuntu or other distros. The first one is, that after some time dbus crashes and I cant start dolphin and most other programs anymore. I need to go to the cli and use "export $(dbus-launch)" to be able again to launch dolphin. This happens every time after some time and so I have to reboot constantly to have a usable system. I would like to finally tackle this. I've read that exchanging dbus with dbus-broker could change this, but so far I did not find out how to build / install this on Neon. the second thing which is very anoying, I use a Thinkpad Twist where i utilize the TrackPoint in favor of the touchpad, but if I shut down my laptop I ALWAYS need one reboot after booting up, to make my TrackPoint work. If I boot up, its not working (the TouchScreen is), after the reboot everything works fine. That is also VERY annoying.... If i should manage to fix those two issues, my OS would nearly be perfect ![]() Does anyone have an idea for me, how to finally get rid of those problems? Thanks for your time Walter ps.: actual KDE Neon on Lenovo ThinkPad Twist uname -a Linux ThinkPad-Twist 5.3.0-26-generic #28~18.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Dec 18 16:40:14 UTC 2019 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Well, this forum by idea should be the right place ![]() As of trackpoint/ultranav problem - have you searched ThinkWiki? https://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/ThinkWiki There should be a section for your model with hopefully some usefull information... Usually the ThinkPads are well supported in Linux... |
