Hi guys, goodmorning,

yesterday i have add 2 SDDM theme with Systemsettings :

Fantasy-Blue-V.2 SDDM Login Themes
Ittu motion theme for SDDM

and when i have reboot i can see only black screen with cursor, also the /etc/sddm.conf was empy and i fond a new file sddm.conf in a subdirectory... /etc/sddm.conf.d/

how can i solve this problem? can i uninstall the SDDM theme with the console?

/etc/sddm.conf is indeed empty, but I have a file kde_settings.conf in /etc/sddm.conf.d with the content:

Are you sure, that the culprit is SDDM theme?
When black screen with cursor can you switch to the viryual console (vc) 2 vith Ctrl+Alt+F2?
If yes, then log in and type:

Code: Select all

sudo init 3

This terminates all graphical desktops and switches you to vc1.
Switch back to vc2 and type:

Code: Select all

startx

It Plasma desktop starts, then there is something wrong with sddm if not, then with X
If recent hardware, no nvidia, and X is not starting you can try wayland:

Code: Select all

dbus-run-session startplasma-wayland

thanks for your reply, when i run "startx" X doesn't starts , so how solve problem with X??

Is there a script to fix X?

Probably it says what is wrong, some error message.
There have been several topics here earlier with subject a' la black screen with cursor, x does not start etc...
Maybe you'll find a solution there
