When my laptop goes to sleep (either manually or via laptop lid being closed while unplugged), etc., it does not resume. When it turns back on, I just see a blinking cursor on a black screen.
Laptop is this thing, so rather new: https://www.newegg.com/matte-black-eluk ... -_-Product Fairly close to a fresh install from a few days ago; not much special configuration or anything. Only major change was that it wasn't shutting down properly, so I changed GRUB commandline to
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.67.0 Qt Version: 5.13.2 Kernel Version: 5.3.0-28-generic #30~18.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Nvidia drivers (PRIME I think): 435.21 Using full-disk encryption (maybe this is the problem? And swap is only 1 GB, so much smaller than my RAM?) A quick search shows a LOT of potential solutions to this, ie: https://unix.stackexchange.com/question ... pend-sleep . But before I try going through all of those in order, does anyone know a fix specific to Neon? |

A lot of ubuntu-based distro users are experiencing this. Something is obviously wrong with the sleep mode, but no global solutions can be found. Just wait and pray for the 20.04 to solve this problem... ![]() |
