So, I'm trying to install some software... a BBS terminal that does the needed ANSI graphics very well, and have compiled it under Linux Mint and Raspian Debian on a Raspberry Pi... Also, I halfway follow one specific website, and their instructions have helped me build the software those two times before. It is:
https://blog.paradroyd.com/post/1380919 ... ubuntumint At any rate, while [trying to] compile in Neon, it always fails... the make script never makes it to the end. Am I missing something that is KDE Neon specific? Its weird to me, because since KDE Neon is Ubuntu based, I figured the process would be interchangeable... so, what am I missing? I really want to install SyncTerm before I make my final IMAGE of the system for backup purposes. (I always create my perfect install of whatever build, then create an IMAGE to use if I ever want to or need to reinstall quickly. Thanks forum -- woot woot! Austin420 |

The instructions are from 2016, and may be a bit outdated, in terms of the dependencies needed, perhaps. Ubuntu 18.04 is iirc newer than Raspbian and some Mint versions, so this will not be a neon specific issue.
You would have to specify the exact process you are using, plus the error messages you see, but a quick search shows me a couple of results that might be useful https://www.erb.pw/how-to-install-synct ... om-source/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FAb2FKLjbA

I didn't realize KDE Neon didn't have libncurses or libncurses5-dev... or something that it needed. So, your link was good - and so was a github i Found on SyncTerm... but I got it in the end.
The reason I posted was I thought I'd already went thru getting those dependancies, and it still failed - but I was wrong. Thanks much!! Austin420 |
