KDE documents the XDG specification and seems to encourage using it, which is what I expected: https://userbase.kde.org/KDE_System_Adm ... _Hierarchy
There have also been previous threads about his topic: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/9 ... y_support/ viewtopic.php?f=289&t=143296 Still, there is a .kde folder, which contains a few things that could all easily fit into the XDG system: https://userbase.kde.org/KDE_System_Adm ... ctory_Tree share/apps -> XDG_DATA_HOME share/config -> XDG_CONFIG_HOME socket, tmp and cache are already symlinks to appropriate location So why not use the proper structure instead of cluttering my home folder with yet another folder? |

My expectation is that it's only still around for apps which haven't been updated to the XDG standard (as in they haven't even been updated to kde frameworks 5 yet).
I'm not entirely what the best route would be to clean this up, but perhaps start by filing a case to bugs.kde.org? or phabricator.kde.org?
