There have been (14) Application and System Updates in the Discover Update cue for a couple of days now. Whenever I've tried to install the updates it fails with the error:
Code: Select all
Package failed to install Error while installing package: trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/config/soffice.cfg/modules/smath/menaubar/menubar.xml', which is also in package libreoffice-common 1
Has anyone else experienced the same? Do you know what the problem is? Or what can be done to correct it?

I get the same error. Synaptic does the same thing. My guess is Libreoffice devs need to change the updates. Libreoffice spreadsheets still work for me.

Migrated from Linux Mint 17.3/18.3 KDE to KDE neon User Edition.

Yeah, everything is still working for me as well. Guess it's just a matter of waiting for things to get fixed upstream, then the update can proceed.

Hey, thanks for the link to the bug report! It's nice to know I'm not the only one. The report said:
Looks like a file has moved between packages which caused the dpkg error. The issue was resolved with "apt --fix-broken install" but nevertheless we should make sure nobody sees this on upgrade.

So I attempted to run the command in terminal (also used fix broken packages feature in Synaptic), and the issue was not resolved. In fact, now LibreOffice no longer functions. Hope they get this fixed fast!

To fix it manually remove all libreoffice packages and reinstall it with "libreoffice libreoffice-kde".

I'm happy to report that updates were available this morning (March 28th) that installed without issue. Once again, I'm working in LibreOffice.
