Hello all. Today I noticed that apt-get dist-upgrade/pkcon update wants to remove the KDE Neon desktop (and not only that)! There 's another guy in reddit which experienced this and can't bring back his KDE Neon desktop due to dependency issues:
https://www.reddit.com/r/kdeneon/commen ... p_can_not/ Here is what I see: https://pastebin.com/mevDbt9Q And here are the repositories I have configured: https://pastebin.com/KU63hcXs Hope this can help other people to avoid this issue and ultimately be able to find the root cause. Thanks. |

Disabling the KDE Neon repo "fixes" the issue.

So, I believe I found the root cause for the problem. I had the KDE Neon repo configured in /etc/apt/sources.list instead of its own /etc/apt/sources.list.d/neon.list.
If memory serves right I think I had it like that because I 've installed KDE Neon using this way since I wanted ZFS. I 've added the KDE Neon repository manually after I completed the installation. There was no problem for months until recently. I don't understand why having the KDE Neon repo in its own configuration file makes a difference, but it's looks to be fine now. |

Actually, disregards my previous post. The problem is caused by having this repo:
instead of this:
(notice release vs user in the above) Frankly, I don't know what their difference is, but it helped fixing the issue. |
