I'm having problems when updating system (KDE Neon stable) via terminal.

Downloading packages process was initially fast, then the speed slowed down (5-12 KiB/s) and sometimes stuck at 70% - 80%. I try again from 0% but the speed is also at 5-12KiB/s.

I search on Google, most are advised to change the repo, but it still slow. And I've tried sudo apt-get clean.

Then I try to update via Discover, it is slow when download packages from Neon repository but fast when download packages from Ubuntu repository. So I only update packages that comes from Ubuntu repository first. I skipped the update from Neon repository.

Are there other solutions to be able to do a system updates that provided from Neon repository ?

Looks like there might be an issue with the archive mirror server which your neon is connecting to.

What I did as a work around is was to first search for public DNS servers from different locations around the world.

Then one by one run the command "nslookup archive.neon.kde.org 1.2.3.4" where 1.2.3.4 should be replaced with the IP of the DNS server you are checking against.

Then I put an entry in /etc/hosts file to override IP address of "archive.neon.kde.org" which was returned by nslookup command.

After that I got better speeds from different mirror server.

Sorry it's not a detailed informative post but it worked for me as a temporary workaround.
