I'm currently running version 5.18.5, but have been on KDE Neon for over 2 years now. Not sure what update did it, but I no longer have the "search" field in Discover software store. Looking for software is a hassle now as I have to weed through every application one by one instead of just typing in the search field like I used to. Is there a way to uninstall it and reinstall it without messing up the entire install (I have some photo software I actually paid for -corel aftershot - that I don't want to lose by wiping and starting over again)? I don't see an option to attach a screenshot here to show what I mean, but the search field is completely gone in my Discover. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just checked on my system and it seems to be working fine.
So for example if you wanted to install the muon package, you would need to type this in the search box and then press enter (to start the search as it is not automated from when you type in the search box) |

Thank you for the reply. But my issue is I no longer have a search box. I can't enter anything as it's not there to enter it in. My distro is KDE Neon, the app is Discover. It used to have a search field and it is no longer there. I have no idea why. I wanted to know if there was a way to uninstall Discover itself and reinstall it. Everything else works fine. I can get all updates. I can see the apps and there categories. I just can't search anymore (no search bar).

Sorry I misunderstand what the problem was.
Would suggest that you try reinstalling the package. The steps would be: 1 - open a terminal window 2 - enter the command: sudo apt-get update 3 - enter your root password 4 - enter the command: sudo apt-get install --reinstall plasma-discover 5 - enter your root password |
