CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 3500u
GPU : Radeon Vega 8 (integrated GPU)
OS : KDE Neon 20.04
SSD : SAMSUNG MZVLQ256HAJD-00000
GNU / Linux kernel version : 5.3.0-51-generic

I install KDE neon on my laptop. After some days I noticed some issues like random lagging and freezing of the whole os. And in one of my NTFS partitions in my SSD, I can not create any file or folder(Read-only mode probably).

I also tried "pop os 20.04" live, after successful boot(maybe) it just froze after showing the desktop

If you need more information, I will definitely give it.

How much RAM and SWAP do you have? Lagginess is more likely a memory issue, depending on the amount of RAM insufficient SWAP can make a big difference. Of course the more memory using applications and processes are running, the more this will be noticeable.
As a rule of thumb: always use at least double the SWAP for RAM upt to and including 16 GB, equal amounts of SWAP and RAM from 16Gb upwards.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Total Ram: 8gb, out of which 2gb used by GPU(it's an APU)
KDE Plasma version: 5.19.1

I generally browse 3-4 tabs open, play music, and code in an ide. I monitor RAM usage sometimes and it remains way lower than the 6gb usable ram limit.
From my experience, it should not exceed the 6gb usable ram limit.

Sometimes it works perfectly fine without any lagginess or any NTFS issue.

I forgot to mention that I turned off secure boot and fast boot. But I experienced the same problem when it was turned on.

No SWAP space? Bad idea... please try setting a 16 GB SWAP space and see if this helps

The problem starts just after the login screen and when I try to open and close a window. So don't think it's an issue of less RAM or now(or little) swap It's something different, something deep I can just move the mouse, nothing else.

This problem was completely solved automatically after I reported this issue. The next time I try KDE NEON, or live boot POP OS, the problem just disappears. It was working fine for some days.

But now it is occurring again. By default I have 2GB of swap space, I haven't added a swap partition, it was there by default.

Recently I am seeing this error "amd-vi unable to read/write to iommu perf counter" after choosing KDE Neon in grub menu and it stops booting.

Which is an entirely different issue as the one reported in this thread...

All the problem that I was facing was solved automatically after a kernel update.
