I used the ppa at:

https://launchpad.net/~pgomes/+archive/ubuntu/amarok

and it works fine.

The problem I have with Elisa is that it seems to have no idea how to display the correct cover art with each track - appears to pick the cover art image randomly from all of the tracks, or doesn't display any image for many tracks, even though all tracks have the correct image, though a few tracks to get the correct image (Dolphin has no trouble displaying the images). I've settle on Strawberry for the moment, but I do miss Amarok.

Currently running KDE Neon 5.22.5 and 5.19.4 (with Windows 10 in a VM); migrated from Linux Mint 17.3

Hello,

Just to inform you that Amarok in Qt5 works i KDE neon with this ppa: https://launchpad.net/~pgomes/+archive/ubuntu/amarok (Pedro de Carvalho Gomes is the excellent maintenair).

The player is usable, even if all the features have not yet been ported. But everything is going well. Try it, you'll adopt it!

For Amarok for Kubuntu only (mouarf!) there exist another ppa: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:joe-yasi/amarok-kde5 (not compatible with KDE neon). At this time, this ppa is more recent.

Hi Patrice,

[…] But I plan to get back this coming week.

I believe that mine and Joseph Yasi's PPA may coexist nicely. At mine I publish previews of Amarok with changes that I have just pushed to the main repository. So, I was not exactly planing to create new versions periodically. But I may do so if there's enough interest.

Cheers,

Pedro
