Is that you catweazel? One of the mint KDE refugees? Anyway, clean installed to a full wiped drive on laptop with non issues. Hardware is an amd a12-8800 laptop with on board graphics. Amd drivers work OOB. Was able to run a few games under Lutris like icewind Dale 2 and NWN. Non graphical glitches I noticed that efi install now creates only a neon folder in /boot/efi/EFI. Previously I had an Ubuntu and neon folder despite never having installed any other distro. The installer also does not detect my nvme drives as ssd and won't apply the same parameters in fstab as they would for a sata ssd. I use the btrfs filesystem. But I guess that has more to do with Calamares than neon. |

Will similar tests be initiated for Neon Developer?

Hi, I installed today in my system Testing Edition and I experienced a grub corruption (grub rescue). I had to access with a live cd and to run "Boot Repair", in order to get everything back. Now, I'm back again with the Testing Edition Focal 20.04 and it seems everything is working well, but... : - I'm experiencing a problem with the sound: I cannot see/have the usual Line Out and I see only an output "Digital Stereo HDMI 2" (there's only a GK107 HDMI Audio Controller and the system doesn't see the sound card, I suppose), which obviously is not the normal one - In the first updates of the system, I get an update to a previous version (rollback?) three packages which are still in v. 18.04 (reading from Muon Package Manager): bubblewrap / iio-sensor-proxy / libepub0 So, my questions are two: - How can I get back my sound? I need some packages more? - Can I safely install (rollback) the packages suggested?

After the latest "grub" update, again, a new error of system: " symbol 'grub_calloc' not found". Entering rescue mode. This is a big problem.

Um. not sure where to report it or what other info I'm supposed to provide
![]() Anyway... upgraded my KDE Neon User to focal fossa according to the instructions https://community.kde.org/Neon/FocalUpgrades After the update my sound card doesn't work because pulse audio thinks that it is unplugged to speakers. I need to run pavucontrol and manually select the profile I want, even though it is marked as unplugged/unavailable (see image below) and it works until I reboot or m PC falls to sleep. ![]() |

I've just noticed that kvantum is now in the repositories, but handled by Ubuntu upstream. Perhaps this package needs to be adopted by Neon?

AFAIK, another service is occupying your output. For me, "Timidity" was the guilty. Check if it is running, kill it and check again. If it works, disable it and/or uninstall it (I disinstalled it) and now everything is working normally again.

Package kio-extras should be rebuild with libtirpc-dev as build dependency Latest akonadi-backend-mysql (4:20.04.3-0xneon+20.04+focal+build7) has wrong dependencies which break installations with mysql-server 8 ot mariadb > 10.3 : Depends: libqt5sql5-mysql, mariadb-client-core-10.3, mariadb-server-core-10.3 Recommends: akonadi-server Conflicts: mysql-client-core-8.0 |

Hi,
after the upgrade on my laptop I don't see any network device. There should a WiFi adapter and an USB ethernet adapter. But
There was an issue during the upgrade. I had to fix it manually. Maybe there is package missing now? The kernel version hasn't changed. |

Yes that was the problem. Installing of the package linux-image-generic fixed the problem. Luckily the all packages were still cached. The initrd of the new kernel is quite bigger than the old one. I think there were the basic modules installed only. |

it wasn't timidity. it seems however that it might not be a kde neon issue but an ubuntu 20.04 :\ |
