So all seems good from me, however two odd things I'm noticing so far:
1. Discover software app - Won't install anything - 'Failed to obtain authentication' if I launch it from menus. Have to run as root to use.. 2. Shutdown from menu (and possibly restart) - Doesn't seem to shutdown.. Have to 'sudo shutdown now' |

There was a bug with Calamares installer that broke the sudo password but it was fixed a few days ago (I already wrote about it in this thread if you want to know the exact date), so I'm guessing you installed with a buggy version. If so, just download a current one. If not, maybe your install is corrupt, but it would be the same solution.

I downloaded to the computer Neon 5.19.4 based on Ubuntu 20.04. To put it mildly, it’s a horror movie. Once Ubuntu pops up on the installation, something checks for Neon to finally appear. The installation does not have a root password setup. He does everything quickly, but after that it's a horror movie. Now the sound, which was constantly HDMI and needs an analogue of jade jade, manages to remain an analogue. I lost all day trying to drag an exported file with my relatives into Korganizer, no theory. The item birthdays exists in Korganizer but when the file is imported a window opens that does not see birthdays. And so a waste of time on one import export file. What doesn't work well is hard for me to remember.

Ah okay that makes sense! Thanks for the help, much appreciated. Apologies for my naivety - how can I rectify this in place? What should I be getting a current version of? Or is it not possible? Also just to clarify because I don't think I did in my original post, I did an upgrade rather than clean install.. |

You're welcome. I didn't look into 'in place' but I guess you would boot from the USB stick, chroot into the installed system and edit the sudoers file but I haven't done that (I re-installed) so I can't give you instructions or even know 'for sure' that would work. So you'll need to re-install with the current version of the ISO - simply download an ISO from the KDE Neon download page (they are all updated daily) and re-install.

Ah okay, you may have missed my edit, but I forgot to clarify I did an upgrade, not a clean install ![]() |

Lol, in that case ignore what I said, mine is all about new installs from a bugged Calamares installer on the ISO. I don't know anything about the upgrade process.

You are constantly insisting on a new version that is supposedly updated every day. I doubt it, I took off the first day she showed up yesterday, they are the same.
You are distancing yourself from the upgrade process, and when you look at the new version, a part of Ununtu is patched with two or three repositories, and the upgrade version normally had all Ubuntu repositories of version 20.04. This is such a forcing version that I have never seen in my life. By system just download .iso, install, download .iso, install, install; hey this is not win 98 |

What's with the attitude? I'm just a Neon user, not part of KDE. I found a problem with the ISO I tried and waited a few days and after asking Nate Graham at KDE, tried the fixed one, and then I simply tell people the same if the problem comes up. Distancing?? I only installed on one system and I didn't have a previous installation of Neon so I didn't do the update so that's why I don't know anything about the update process. And lastly if you look at the KDE Neon download page it says unstable and testing are uploaded each day. Wave your blame stick somewhere else.

sources.list ISO Plazma 5.19.4 Ubuntu 20.04
sources.list ISO Plazma 5.19.4 Ubuntu baza 18.04 upgrade to 20.04
The upgrade version works better than this new one where the installation initially spins Ubuntu, then the installation switches to Neon Installation. There is a big problem here, if the distribution will only be used for surfing and facebook, but if someone is doing something, then it is a big problem and you should run as far as possible from this distribution. Sad but the situation is chaotic ![]() |

Just made an account to report I'm encountering the exact same issue after rebasing on 20.04. It all started from me having issues starting a mysql session, then uninstalling mysql-server. Now it just looks like I cannot install mysql anymore, even after removing everything mysql/mariadb related and even manually deleting /etc/mysql and /var/lib/mysql. What I CAN do is install mariadb-server without hassle, but even then, after a few hours of the mariadb service running, I just cannot start a session anymore (the same error as before, "cannot find mysql.sock"). Am I just screwed? |

Hello
I tried to install KDE Neon with LVM. I could create a volume group but got two problems: 1. I could create multiple Volume Groups for the same Physical Volumes. 2. I could not find out how I can create a Logical Volume in a Volume Group: https://i.imgur.com/w3QUSxK.png Are this bugs? Should I report them somewhere? Salutations Nodøn |

It is absolutely impossible to get HP printers to print under the rebase. I have confirmed on two upgrades and two fresh installs.
Under 18.04 it's fine, even if I have to download the dependencies and install the HPLIP drivers manually. In 20.04 my all in one Ink Tank 410 printer is detected but if I attempt to print I get with 'unable to print file: permission denied" or the file hangs in the print queue and I can only cancel. Running hp-check shows any number of missing dependencies and they are not in the repos and get the message "unable to connect." If I attempt to download and install the missing dependencies manually Discover or synaptic zap them! (Is this part of Ubuntu's clearing out of 32 bit code?) I notice that the QT4 libraries appear to have been thrown out in the Ubuntu repos with 20.04 and, as it stands, the HP drivers just do not work. I have halted the upgrade of my laptops here but now have a machine that absolutely cannot print. I have spent days trying to resolve this. |
