My KDE Neon install has worked well for ~ a year. About a week ago this error began. I am only getting glitchy looking lines after selecting kde neon to boot, they move around a bit, and then stop. I can click to initiate a shutdown (not hard shut down) by clicking the shutdown button, so the underlying system is responsive, I don't think I am able to drop to command line. If I boot and select recovery mode then continue boot it boots up fine. I have tried looking at my boot log (I could upload if helpful) but did not see the issue. I'm considering nomodeset but have not yet tried it. I have all the updates from discover installed. Any recommendations on troubleshooting?

Upgrading to 20.04 fixed this problem, closing.
