I attempted to upgrade to kde neon 20.04.
The upgrade process failed due to problems downloading http://archive.neon.kde.org/user/pool/m ... amd64.ddeb Afterwards Discover and the apt-get -s dist-upgrade were reporting broken packages (bubblewrap iio-sensor-proxy libepub0). Apt suggests to solve the situation by removing the following packages - accepting this seems like a bad idea:
This is the output of apt-get -s dist-upgrade (sorry cant get this in English even if all locales variables are set to en_US.utf8):
After some research in my system I found that the clean up after the failed upgrade to kde neon 2004 was apparently not complete. There was an apt preferences file /etc/apt/preferences.d/98-focal-overrides which pins the broken packages named above to inappropriate versions. After removing /etc/apt/preferences.d/98-focal-overrides broken packages are no longer reported. The solution suggested by apt in this case is quite dangerous as it might break installed flatpack applications if not worse. |
