Dolphin or Kate as root... Broken
I agree this is barmy. The way I work round this is to install: thunar & featherpad Then start thunar in a terminal window with the command: sudo thunar Using featerpad (as a replacement for kate) to make the required file changes. |

qApt show if there is a dependencies problem and solve it by itself. But I think it's true, there is no list of them... I used gdebi with Mint during years and it's a very simple and efficient program. It's probably a mistake but I dislike use gnome programs with KDE (even if they are good) because I'm not confident about dependencies.
On line account => Yes it's a shame... Waiting for new version Discover : for me it's a buggy software. Muon (or synaptic) are better but not as visual... Discover really need to be implemented like Gnome/Mint software packages Kio Gdrive : fail for me too it's a shame ![]() Skype : I installed snap version and it works well. Lync = Skype no ? Telegram has official snap package but I don't use it. Dolphin as root : you could install a Dolphin service https://store.kde.org/p/1384645/ Kate as root : not needed ! Open your file in the normal way, even if it's a root file (by double-clic or by browse in Kate). When you modify and save, you will have to enter your root password and it's done ![]() |

The problem with installing debs via Discover seems to have been fixed in the latest Plasma 5.20.2 bugfix release just put out.

Thank you very much! That helped me solve my "Do you want to allow installing of unsigned software?" issue with "pkcon refresh", that in reality was a duplicate entry in the "/etc/apt/sources.list.d/signal.list" file. |
