No Swedish in 5.20

Tue Oct 20, 2020 2:18 pm
After the recent update to KDE 5.20 the Swedish KDE translations are gone. System language is English even if most applications still is in Swedish. Swedish is no longer an option in System Settings -> Regional Settings -> Add languages... There are several other languages available but no Swedish. language-pack-kde-sv and kde-l10n-sv are installed. How can I get Swedish back? Is it an oversight in packaging, or is the Swedish translation lagging behind?

Swedish is not available for selection in Arch either (with Plasma 5.20.1), so this is not just a Neon issue.

Looking at the Swedish translation statistics for the stable branch (i.e. currently 5.20; https://l10n.kde.org/stats/gui/stable-kf5/team/sv/), it seems to be in a rather weird state: most of the files are 100% translated, meaning that there must be active translators, otherwise there would be untranslated/fuzzy strings all over the place; but then there are a number of (important!) components at 0% (including almost all of plasma-*). So it looks as if the translators somehow haven't been aware of the existence of those files...

Then again, almost everything is 100% translated in trunk (development branch; https://l10n.kde.org/stats/gui/trunk-kf5/team/sv/). So someone from the translation team should just sync the translations from trunk to stable, and then hopefully Swedish would become selectable again starting from the next Plasma release.

It is so tragical that I can choose swedish in Language settings and the result is a complete mix of english and swedish. I could choose swedish but no clean result. Remake and do it right.
