Was planning on reading some EPUBs on my desktop, however I found out that Okular couldn't read them anymore. This is very odd, considering that the Okular website lists support for it:
https://okular.kde.org/formats.php It seems that KDE neon doesn't have ebook-tools, which Okular needs to read EPUBs. However for some reason, it still has the package for debugging symbols. Next I tried to install Calibre, which two packages exist for (calibre, calibre-bin). Unfortunately, both failed to install. Error when installing calibre:
Error when installing calibre-bin:
As it stands at the moment, no Qt-based EPUB readers work on KDE neon. |

Just tested the first problem. Okular chokes on some epub's, true, but not on others. I don't know why that is.
And regarding Calibre: it's a known issue. Install Calibre via their website: https://calibre-ebook.com/download_linux . That works. |

Had the same problem here with Okular on Neon.
That's because you need to install the okular-extra-backends package. Then it works (Btw epub-tools is replaced by libepub0, that's why you couldn't find it) |
