After yesterday's big update I lost a lot: no application menu, no pagers, no notification area, no widgets. I only see the applications in their normal window settings like Dolphin. Other applications can be opened via Alt-F2 (KRunner) en function normally. It seems like the whole Plasma environment is not there. The login is normal, for a moment I see the normal wallpaper of the first activity and then everything goes black except for the Dolphin window that always opens on that first activity. This laptop was upgraded to KDE Neon 20.04 LTS - I mean, no fresh install - and all updates had been done.
What to do? Any suggestions?

After some experimenting I see plasmashell keeps crashing. When I start it in konsole I get:

It turns out the event calendar widget - the version I used at least - was causing plasmashell to crash. After removing it I got my beautiful plasma environment back

I just updated Plasma to the latest version and plasmashell is also crashing. How can I try to remove that widget if I cannot see the taskbar?
