There are old posts on this topic, I thought I'd bring it back thru a new post.

I've been getting this alert for several days now. It came out of the blue - I hadn't installed any new themes nor made any system changes. The alert says in full:

"The Window Switcher installation is broken,
resources are missing.
Contact your distribution about this."

Did you contact your distribution? Because that's what it says: something is missing in your installation, so checking you have not accidentally removed something should be your first move, then contact your distribution.

At least a bit more information could be helpful, like the exact Plasma version and which type of Switcher you are using (see in your System Settings -> Workspace behavior -> Desktop Effects)

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

I use KDE Neon and the only link to a forum led me here.

That said, I did find the answer on some random redit post: window management->task switcher and choose a different visualization.

I did that and the error has gone away.

You should change your badge (that says Fedora) if you are not using it anymore...

I'm thinking that bade means something in a profile. I looked around on this board and couldn't find a profile to edit. I did see a mention of PC Linux. I used that for years when I first started using Linux. Don't see where to change that.

Edit: I found where the profile was and changed my OS PCLinux to Neon. Still no clue about 'bade'.
