Hello!

I want to install KDE Neon 20.04 (20201210-0947.iso) on a LVM Volume with LUKS Partitions. Before I start the installer I prepared 1x EFI, 1x ext4 boot partition (not encrypted) and one LVM volume with 1x /root and 1x with /home (encrypted with luks) during the USB live session (ventoy).

LVM volume is recognized by the installer and I can map all mount points to the corresponding partitions and the installation is also starting after that. But after 1-2 minutes I get the information that the installation failed and I get below mentioned (translated from German):

Unpacking of the file "/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs" failed.
rsync failed with error code 11.

I checked the MD5 sum of this file "filesystem.squashfs" and it's fine. Installation works fine, if I install without LVM volume, so ISO should be ok.

Does the KDE Neon installer support the installation on a LVM volume with LUKS partitions?

Thanks!

Sadly it seems that Calamares, the installer KDE Neon (and a lot other distros) uses, currently not really supports either LVM and/or LUKS, see this Bug: https://github.com/calamares/calamares/issues/1564

I've used a standard ubuntu 20.04 server minimal installation and added the kde neon repos atferwards.
