Since Update to 5.20.4 baloo did not find files any more if you have added CIFS/Sambashare to baloo. It works for a short time if i delet the whole index, but after some short time only a little icon is displayed in krunner or startmenu instead of search results.
If i search drectly in dolphin, i get nothing.

Balooctl say to me everting is fine:
Code: Select all
balooctl status
Baloo file indexing is not running
Total number of files indexed: 55,147
Files that are still being indexed: 0
Files that failed to index: 0
The current index is 40.78 MiB in size

What can we do, all us files are on shared storages with CIFS/SAMBA.

Best Regards

I've the same problem since some days,

KDE-neon, up to date (Plasma 5.20.4).
desktop-pc, local harddisk.

Few search-results where shown, some not, but files exist.

System-settings/filesearch:
filesearch is set active
filecontent is set active
hidden files is set active
Any Idea?

Yes it is really bad. Search for local files works fine.

There are more problems with Baloo since that update. I use tags with some files:
--Sometimes baloo_file does NOT start after starting the computer, no tags of files are shown. 'balooctl enable' is necessary.
--Sometimes baloo_file DOES start, but the tags of files are not shown. 'balooctl purge' and a restart of Dolphin fixes that.

Also with the default settings, baloo works only once after delete the whole DB. After relogin, no working baloo anymore. Regardless of whether network drives are included or not.

When I use baloosearch's command in console the result is empty lines. Krunner also shows me the empty result and if I click on the empty result it gives an error.

It's like the data is in the DataBase but baloo shows it empty.
