Hi everyone,
I updated my KDE Neon last night with a 219MB system patch that required a reboot. The system rebooted and installed the patch. After the automatic reboot, the boot sequence crashes with the following series of error messages: error: can't find command `U'. error: can't find command `d?'. error: can't find command `e'. error: can't find command `?rZ'. error: syntax error. error: Incorrect command. error: syntax error. error: can't find command `t?d'. error: syntax error. error: Incorrect command. error: syntax error. error: can't find command `this'. error: can't find command `the'. error: can't find command `?file'. error: syntax error. error: Incorrect command. error: syntax error. error: can't find command `startswith?endswith'. error: can't find command `old_driverZ'. error: can't find command `new_driver?xorg?co'. error: can't find command ` Has this happened to anyone? My system is now borked and I have no idea where to start fixing it. Googling the various errors has not helped. Since I never see the KDE Neon boot logo, the system is crashing before it loads, which could mean it's a Grub problem. I can't boot in safe mode. The terminal is inaccessible. Strangely, my monitor goes into power save mode if I wait long enough and then it comes back to life after 15 seconds with no change on the screen. Luckily my home partition is on a 2nd disk, but I don't want to reinstall Neon. Should I fix Grub with a boot disk? Hopefully, someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks for your help. |
