Hi All,

I'm running the latest version KDE neon user and a quite a remarkable issue was introduced with the latest patches. Whenever I start the system and try to launch any application from the starter nothing happens (first launch attempt gets ignored). Only on the second attempt the application (e.g. Firefox or Dolphin) launches. But then any time I try to open any other application later on it launches the one previously started. For example if I try to start Firefox it would open Dolphin and if I try then to start Thunderbird it would open Firefox.

The command queue sort of "lags" one command behind. This bizarre behavior is also observed opening regular files from dolphin.

I also looked through all logs and couldn't find any hints or errors.

This issue was also reproduced independently on my laptop (DELL XPS-13 9360) using the same configuration.

Here are a few details about my current system:
Hardware:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3800X
GPU: AMD RX 5700XT
RAM: 64GB DDR3
HDD: 1TB Samsung SSD

Software:
KDE-Plasma 5.22.1
KDE-Framework 5.83.0
Qt 5.15.3
Kernel 5.8.0-55 generic
Display-Platform Wayland

I'd be very grateful if somebody could give me a nudge in the right direction. Also please let me know if any additional information is required.

Just want to mention that I have the same problem (see https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=309&t=171573).
I hope there will be a workaround/fix, because this bug makes it pretty hard to work productively.

Edit: I saw that you use Wayland too. It seems as if the normal X11 protocol works just fine.
Could you try to switch to X11 and confirm my observation?

Thanks for the quick reply. It seems indeed that's a Wayland exclusive problem, all seems to work well on X11.

I'll switch to X11 for the moment then.

Do you have any knowledge if a bug report has been submitted on this?
