Hi,
I'm carrying out a partition scan which takes me approximately 12 hours.
I have done this twice and both times the result is a black screen with the normal mouse pointer but I can not get out of the black screen unless I reboot.
tty3 works as expected and I can access all the files after login. I just can not make plasma work.
so:
running scan, during this time the monitors are switched off.
when I switch on the monitors they are black with a the mouse pointer.
tty3 works as expected, (only tried that one).
I use nvidia proprietary driver 460.80

question:
1) what has happened?
2) how can I fix so it does not happen again?
3) is there a workaround to get to the login screen?
4) is there a workaround to restart xwindows/plasma?
