Default Keyboard shortcuts

Mon Jul 05, 2021 8:00 pm
Running 5.8.0-59

The default keyboard shortcuts have all disappeared. When I use CTRL-C, it prints C and deletes the selected text.

CTRL- click doesn't open hyperlinks.

It affects LibreOffice, Kate etc. and is a bloomin' nuisance!

Context copy/paste works okay with mouse.

I'd be grateful for advice.

As is so often the way, I've wrestled with this for 2 days. Then, as soon as I start a thread, an idea suddenly dawns.

I switched the keyboard (Cherry KC1000) from a USB 3.0 slot to a 2.0 slot. CTRL + C and CTRL + V worked perfectly.

Then I switched back to the original 3.0 slot and they worked there too!

Alice in Wonderland stuff.

Probably disconnecting the keyboard did the trick (i.e. rebooting the keyboard).

Currently running KDE Neon 5.22.5 and 5.19.4 (with Windows 10 in a VM); migrated from Linux Mint 17.3
