I wasn't paying attention to the old kernel files that always accumulate in /boot every time the kernel is upgraded. As a result /boot filled up. I realized this when a kernel update failed to install last month. I cleaned out /boot and tried the installation again.
It went OK, but since then I've been getting an icon appearing on the bottom right corner of the screen every time I boot. The image is in the link below: https://ve4cy.net/misc-images/error.jpg If I choose the 'Open Discover' button, Discover opens and that's it. On the bottom left it says 'Up to date'. If I chose the 'Repair System' button, the icon simply disappears. If I check syslog, I see the following events were logged as a result of clicking on 'Repair System'. from /var/log/syslog
I tied pkcon repair and pkcon update. Both came back with no problems. See link below: https://ve4cy.net/misc-images/pkcon.jpg I've done quite a few system updates since then and everything has installed OK with no errors. Any idea on how I can get rid of this offline updates error that pops up at every boot? Is there some file relating to Discover that I can edit or delete to stop it from showing? My current system config is: Neon 5.23 Plasma 5.23.0 KDE Framworks Version 5.87.0 QT version 5.15.3 Kernel Version 5.11.0-37 generic 64 bit. Thanks in advance. |
