EDIT: seems like a bug in upower and/or the kernel:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423556 https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/upower/upower/-/issues/126 https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=210425 ----------------- I have this problem on a brand new laptop with a freshly installed KDE Neon distro: if i boot the laptop on KDE Neon then the battery indicator is always stuck on charging when everything else says that the battery is discharging (tlp, acpi). This isn't only a visual bug because the power management settings doesn't trigger (no brightness change, no sound, nada). If i try to boot with the charging cable disconnected then it shows the correct icon and when i connect the cable shows that is charging, but it gets stuck again. No matter how many times i reconnect the cable it always show that the battery is charging and power management doesn't trigger at all. Note that it works perfectly on Windows 10/11 and the battery indicator works properly when i booted from a Ubuntu 21.10 live USB with Gnome. Didn't work from KDE Neon live USB. Any ideas? This bug makes the KDE energy saving settings useless because they never trigger. KInfoCenter
The following info was shown then the charging cable was disconnected.
Battery popup, says that is charging but there isn't enough power (cable is disconnected). The icon shows that is charging. Battery widget, says that the battery is discharging (cable is disconnected). The icon shows that is charging. |
