I've got KDE Neon 5.23 and it is regularly updated. Since last week anydesk doesn't start UI (it was working fine for 3 months). The version is 6.1.1 (anydesk_6.1.1-1_amd64.deb) and it works on Debian 11 (KDE 5.22).
The anydesk service is started and runs normally, but GUI doesn't show up.
When started from terminal I get this output:
Code: Select all
(anydesk:21090): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 16:27:51.387: IA__gtk_widget_set_tooltip_markup: assertion 'GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed

(anydesk:21090): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 16:27:51.388: IA__gtk_widget_set_tooltip_markup: assertion 'GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed

(anydesk:21090): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 16:27:51.391: IA__gtk_signal_connect_full: assertion 'GTK_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

(anydesk:21090): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 16:27:51.391: IA__gtk_signal_connect_full: assertion 'GTK_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

Does anyone has the same problems?

Gave up after updating everything.
Downloaded old version of anydesk from their archive:
anydesk_5.5.6-1_amd64.deb

and now it works again.

I have to do the same to make Anydesk works.

Also I created a VM and install Neon. Update everything and tha latest version of Anydesk works normally. Very strange.

I found the solution to this problem!

The cause (at least in my case) was adding a menu icon in the window title bar.
With this menu icon on windows title bar, Anydesk version 6.x does not open. Just remove it to get back to normal.

I didn't have that icon. Adding and removing didn't help. Only reverting to the old version and then holding the package to prevent upgrade:

Code: Select all
sudo dpkg -i anydesk_5.5.6-1_amd64.deb
sudo apt-mark hold anydesk

Hi!

I ran into the same problem, and apparently, doing some research by going through the dependency list, I discovered that installing Anydesk didn't automatically require pango and pangox.
So, I manually installed them, and then it worked!
So running this should solve it:
Code: Select all
$ sudo apt install libpango1.0-0 libpangox-1.0-0

I'm running Kubuntu 21.10, and Anydesk 6.1.1.

Have a nice day!
