Hi, I've just reinstalled KDE Neon on my laptop and have issues with my locales. This isn't the first time I had this on KDE Neon but I was usually able to fix it, but this time I am unable. The issue always shows up when I change settings in "Regional Settings > Formats" using the System settings app (so I suppose this is a bug).

Here it is:

Code: Select all
pocky@neon:~$ locale
locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory
LANG=en_CA.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=en_CA.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC=en_CA.UTF-8
LC_TIME=en_GB.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY=en_CA.UTF-8
LC_MESSAGES="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER=en_CA.UTF-8
LC_NAME=en_CA.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=en_CA.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=en_CA.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=en_CA.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=en_CA.UTF-8
LC_ALL=

And when I install or remove packages using apt:
Code: Select all
perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
        LANGUAGE = "en_CA.UTF-8",
        LC_ALL = (unset),
        LC_TIME = "en_GB.UTF-8",
        LC_MONETARY = "en_CA.UTF-8",
        LC_ADDRESS = "en_CA.UTF-8",
        LC_TELEPHONE = "en_CA.UTF-8",
        LC_NAME = "en_CA.UTF-8",
        LC_MEASUREMENT = "en_CA.UTF-8",
        LC_IDENTIFICATION = "en_CA.UTF-8",
        LC_NUMERIC = "en_CA.UTF-8",
        LC_PAPER = "en_CA.UTF-8",
        LANG = "en_CA.UTF-8"
    are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to a fallback locale ("en_CA.UTF-8").
locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory

I tried to do what I always do to fix it:
Code: Select all
export LC_ALL="en_CA.UTF-8"

and also:
Code: Select all
sudo locale-gen en_CA.UTF-8
sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales

However, despite that it seems to have fixed it whenever I reboot my laptop, LC_ALL is back to "unset".
