Hi there,

I experience the following problem on my KDE neon 5.23 User Edition machine: When I hit the suspend button (or type systemctl suspend into the command line), the sessions is ended, i.e. the effect is the same as if I would have selected "logout" instead of suspend, and the computer does not suspend. Any ideas how to troubleshoot / fix this?

Best,
Gandalf

Only that perhaps you should check the logs. I don't use KDE Neon (I use OpenSUSE Tumbleweed), but I would check the logs for any clues. On my TW system, the logs I would look at are:

  • $HOME/.local/share/sddm/xorg-session.log
  • /var/log/Xorg.0.log
  • /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old
  • and the journalctl command for the system logs.
