hello
been using neon for years and love it yesterday I bought a new miniPC and having troubles with 2 things: 1. the wifi card is a mediatek MT7921k, ax capable, tried different kernel > than 5.12 but no luck (5.15 xanmod included, which got me a BT icon and no wifi installed) 2. the USB 3.0 ports don't work, even with just mouse and keyboard (the usb 3.1 ones and type C in the front do work) No dual boot, never installed win on this it seems it works on ubuntu 21 and latest kernel....when to neon? Am I hopeless with this hardware and Neon? or maybe someone had luck? |

Neon is using Ubuntu 20.04, so hardware support will be identical to that.
Neon won't see any update to the core OS until some time (months) after Ubuntu 22.04 LTS is released, though we should see a kernel bump to 5.13 from Ubuntu is the coming months. You probably are missing some firmware files not included in 20.04, as well as needing the newer kernel. Though the Xanmod kernel *should* come with a more current linux-firmware package ( I am testing Xanmod on my Neon PC, and have its firmware files) You may be better off using Kubuntu 21.10 + Kubuntu's Backports PPA to get the latest Plasma on a more current core at this time. Possibly useful if you want to tinker: https://www.linux.org/threads/solved-wi ... ard.37699/

What is the neon/Ubuntu replacement for Debian's isenkram-cli ?
It probes the hardware and suggests firmware packages to install. |

Oddly, this is not available in Ubuntu 20.04, but is in 18.04, 21.04, 21.10, and 22.04 Ubuntu only imports this from Debian, and doesn't actually build/support it themselves
