Hi,
I am using a server system that has a set of scripts working together with the login manager.

Unfortunately, those scripts only work with gddm or lightdm. KDENeon uses sddm.

Is there a way to switch the login manager to lightdm? The procedure is described here:

https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/LightDM/

but this does not work with 20.04 based distributions (neither Kubuntu nor KDE Neon). Lightdm installs and displays, but when logging in, "failed to create session" is displayed.

I know that normally there is no reason to switch the login manager, but in this case it would save me a lot of work. I would be very happy to get tips on how to proceed.

Regards, Andreas

Luckily it was easier than thought to adapt the login process to sddm, so this topic is no longer valid!
