Hi I have been using Zorin OS for some time. And I installed KDE Neon today in dualboot mode (alongside Zorin OS: Not using the alongside option. Created another partition for Neon). Installation completed successfully. When I selected Neon on boot the display manager is not working. It immediately goes into a blackscreen (with screenlight on). When I press Ctrl+Alt+F2 the light turns off and then complete dark. When I press those buttons again the black screen with light on reappears. This cycle continues. I'd really love to use KDE Neon. I am a linux beginner (I know only some things). Please help. (I use GDM3 in Zorin).
SAME PROBLEM APPEARS WHEN I TRY TO BOOT ZORIN TOO. (Some additional information: I had recently installed KDE Plasma DE over Zorin. Since it was an older version, I uninstalled it. Then had to remove sddm seperately and reactivated gdm3. But I dont think it matters. because before installing KDE Neon I reverted everything on my Zorin by restoring my Timeshift Snapshot. The snapshot was taken immediately after I installed Zorin, way before trying KDE Desktop Environment.) UPDATE: It works when I press F12 and enter boot menu, then select neon from boot options and select neon from the next menu. |
