I attempted to update my system using KDE Discover from 5.24.1 to 5.24.3. The offline update failed.

I was able to update it successfully from the command line with the
Code: Select all
sudo pkcon update
command. This worked as expected, I am now on KDE Neon 5.24.3

The problem is that now whenever I boot my PC, KDE Discover shows me a broken notification:

Discover
Failed Offline Update
Failed to update 1 package
Error while installing package: 0.0000

Does anyone know how I can remove this notification that always pops up or somehow tell KDE Discover the system has already been updated?

I went through this a while back..

In my case, /boot had filled up. When the next kernel update was released, the filled up /boot directory wouldn't let the kernel unpack and install properly. This resulted in a 'failed to update' message.

Might not be your issue, but it's something worth checking.. To see if your /boot is full or near full, use the command:

df | grep boot

You'll see how much of the directory is used as a percentage...

Hi!

Still no comment on this topic? Updated to version 5.25.4 just yesterday, and this issue has arisen.... It draws my attention, it has been present for a while now...

Notification appears after every reboot, but Discover, apt and pkcon do NOT show any remaining updates....

This fixed it for me (complete with spelling mistake :) ).
Code: Select all
sudo rm /var/lib/PackageKit/offline-update-competed
