I read that 25.4 would include support for fingerprint readers so installed KDE Neon. Love it so far, but the fingerprint reader setup is nowhere to be found. I tried following the directions in the third reply of this thread
https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=309&t=174078 but step 2 requires adding fingerprints via kde user settings, and I see nothing in there to allow me to do so. It should be in System Settings>Personalization>Users, correct? Am I looking in the wrong place? If I search for fingerprints in KRunner the only System item shows is Users. lsusb says I have 0a5c:5800 Broadcom Corp. BCM5880 Secure Applications Processor, I'm pretty sure that's the fingerprint reader processor. Am I missing something, or just out of luck? |

If your hardware is not supported by fprint, then you won't have the UI in System Settings

Welp, that's disappointing. You'd think as big a player as Broadcom is there be SOMETHING out there. Thank you for the answer, and also for the the resources. I've been tinkering with Linux for 10 years or so and don't think I've ever seen either of those websites. |
