I've been using Kubuntu 20.04 for some time, and just made the switch over to KDE Neon 5.24. However, one immediate issue: in Discover, rather than allowing you to select which packages to upgrade, it only seems to let you pick "System Upgrade," which seems to include absolutely everything - even software that isn't actually related to the system (i.e. browsers, random user-installed applications, etc).
While I can understand the rationale of applying all *system* upgrades together, there's very often a reason to hold back from upgrading one particular application. For instance, maybe there's a system security update that you want, but due to a regression in some 3rd party application, you don't want that particular app upgraded just yet. Or the opposite: maybe you're in the middle of a work day and need to quickly update just one particular 3rd party application, without doing the full-blown system upgrade at this very moment. Am I missing something, or does Neon prevent the user from having any control over what you upgrade on your system, forcing you to do everything at the same moment, or nothing at all...?

Hi,
you need to disable offline updates in Systemsettings > Updates, uncheck Use offline updates. will; |

Oh nice, if it's as simple as that, I'm a happy camper! Just changed the setting, & will see what happens the next time some updates are available. Thanks for the quick reply! |

This is fantastically helpful, as I need to hold off on thunderbird updates for a little while, but I don't want delay other updates. So glad to find the question asked and answered!
