Hello,

When I close my laptop lid, manually trigger sleep mode, or leave the machine alone until it suspends, I am unable to get the session to resume (i.e. screen stays black no matter what I do, sometimes flickering when I first try to wake it up). I need to force reboot the machine in these cases. I am using Neon 5.24, User Edition, on a new LG Gram 17.

Similar result on the Dell XPS 13 9320, but for screen energy saving (screen turn off timer). Sleep works as intended, but if I enable screen energy saving the screen will turn off and the screen will not turn back on unless force reboot. Perhaps that is also your issue, try disabling screen energy saving in System settings > Power Management > Energy Saving - for On AC Power, On Battery, and On Low Battery.

I've been distro hopping for the past couple weeks (tried roughly 40 different distros&/flavors) and KDE Fedora plus Gnome Fedora both still had that issue for my machine. Tbh, after it happened for the ~10th time I just started automatically disabling the feature on every install, so I'm not certain where the issue is sourced from.
