Hi,
The last update has been rough. Many people were hit by dependencies problems and windows without decorations. Today I was able to successfully update everything but the X11 Session still had no windows decorations and I couldn't move the windows. I had to manually install kwin-x11 to fix this. I know you guys are doing a great effort to get Wayland to run stable but for me it's still buggy (constantly freezes and randomly repeats keystrokes). But the question is Did you forcefully uninstall X11 from everyone?? Was that intentional and unannounced? I use KDE Neon almost since the beginning and KDE long before that but after the forced change with the "wonderful" offline update system that needs to restart even more times than windows (still have nightmares when I think about it) and this I think it's time for me to search for greener pastures. Please provide some link to reasonable explanation. Thanks |

Which edition of Neon did you update? I'm using machines with User and Testing, they're both kept up to date and I'm using X11 and haven't seen anything like what you describe

Hi,
Same problem here. The above mentioned solution did *not* work:
Trying to install kwin-x11 here does end in:
However, I seem not to have any "held" packages, "dpkg --get-selections | grep hold" returns empty I also cannot find the "broken" packages: apt --fix-broken install
Trying to remove "apt remove libkwinglutils13" to install "libkwinglutils12" would remove pretty much all of KDE (it seems to me). However kwin-x11 depends on libkwinglutils12. Please advise. Regards, pm Following the complete output of "apt install kwin-x11":

It seems indeed to be a bug, not an attempt to force Wayland through our throats:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454319 You can add your experiences to the bug thread and ask there for help. In my case update and kwin-x11 solved the issue at some point. I think this is very frustrating since the problem seems to be wayland-related changes and I don't even use it. |
