Cant boot into KDE-Neon

Wed Aug 24, 2022 5:50 pm
Hi I can only boot into KDE-NEON when my USB-C LAN Port is connected. It does not matter if a cable is connectet or not it's really just the LAN Adapter.
Same on the installation Medium and after the installation.
My Device is HP ENVY x360 ds0101ng

Booting stucks with that terminal

The problem is on the line
Code: Select all
tpm_crb MSFT0101:00: [Firmware Bug]: ACPI region does not cover the entire command/response buffer.

Page 3 of the HP ENVY x360 ds0101ng manual, says that comes with
Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 firmware

According to Wikipedia:
The primary scope of TPM is to ensure the integrity of a platform. In this context, "integrity" means "behave as intended", and a "platform" is any computer device regardless of its operating system. This is to ensure that the boot process starts from a trusted combination of hardware and software, and continues until the operating system has fully booted and applications are running.
[...]
It could remotely attest that a computer is using the specified hardware and software.

So the problem is not KDE Neon. HP decided that your PC can't boot other Operating System than the pre-installed (Windows 10).

However, you can disable TMP following this instructions.

Let me know if it worked.
