Bluetooth woes

Sat Aug 27, 2022 9:59 am
Hi all,

I'm really struggling with actually getting any work done on Neon (Plasma / wayland -for the gestures). The latest yak-shave-fest being bluetooth issues. I hope I am just being a noob and have missed a setting somewhere.

I'm running the user edition, up to date (or at least updated this morning via discover) on a MS Surface Go v1 (8,128):

Code: Select all
Distributor ID: Neon
Description:    KDE neon User - 5.25
Release:        20.04
Codename:       focal

I'm having the following bluetooth issues:

  1. I have a fancy mechanical bluetooth keyboard which I use when I'm at my desk. It is paired with my surface go as "device 1" of the three it can pair with.
  2. When I boot the device, the keyboard is connected at the greeter, and I can login by typing on it.
  3. When the session starts (Plasma, wayland) I can't type, and see that bluetooth is now turned off.
  4. To type again, I need to:
  5. turn bluetooth on
  6. re-pair the keyboard (reconnecting in various ways doesn't work)
  7. Additionally I have a surface pen that refuses to pair.
  8. The only clue the GUI wizard gives me is "The setup of Surface Pen has failed"

I must confess I am not familiar with the KDE way, especially its various GUI settings managers. I usually live in either LxQT or i3 environments.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. Can you open Kconsole and post the output of this command?:
Code: Select all
systemctl status bluetooth
