Running Neon 5.25 -- Plasma 5.25.5 -- QT 5.15.6
I'm getting these Bluetooth comments in dmesg.
It appears a firmware patch file is missing. I checked and don't have either of these on my drive. Looking around, I see I can download the patch files from places like github. I assume that I can then copy the file to the appropriate directory. But, I'm concerned that if I do this, I might break something. Are either of these patch files available in the usual repositories? If so, which package contains them? (There are quite a few Bluetooth packages that I don't have.. But, I don't want to install them all).. If these files aren't in the repository, is it OK to download one of the patch files available from github? Thanks is advance.... |

Is Bluetooth working? Are there any actual error messages seen?
If so, then ignore the messaging. Errors and non-functional BT is where you might have to mess with firmware files. You can use information from here to see more info if you are missing anything, and specific errors https://github.com/winterheart/broadcom-bt-firmware The issue here is, neon and Ubuntu 20.04 are on a newer kernel than the last time this git page was updated, so i am not sure the files there are useful or not. However, the information and hardware/driver info you pull up will still be useful

Thanks for the reply.
Bluetooth works. I'll disregard the message for now. |
