I know some are itching to get Neon on the latest 22.04 ubuntu base. My system however is running like a dream and I want to keep it that way. So how long after the 22.04 based Neon is released will the 20.04 base be supported for?

Ubuntu 20.04 base will be supported (Hardware and maintenance updates) five years - so until April 2025.
KDE Neon packages probably until the next version is out. If you look at bionic based KDE Neon, then the latest packages were released at July 2020.
