Thank you. Only two small problems, so far:

* php8.1. not linked as enabled in apache2 folder and php8.1 mysql extension not installed (quickly solved);
* desktop settings not stored (at least firstly).

But except that, it was an excellent upgrade, better than the kubuntu one (to 22.04).
Thank you very much!

Very similar issues to grooveman.
It tried to install grub-efi-amd64-signed twice, once midway, and one more time at the very end, both with error
installed grub-efi-amd64-signed package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 32.
Note that I did reinstall grub shortly after initially installing KDE neon 2 years ago since I managed to break something, and I did recently install a legacy BIOS-grub onto my boot drive since I switched to a device that only had BIOS support, ontop of my previous, still existing and still working EFI system partition.

I will say, that even though it says my update failed, upon reboot, the system does work... I'm not exactly sure what problems I'll bump into while I use it.

I think the EFI issue is a bug... it has been vexing me for the past 6 months, and I was really hoping it would be resolved with this update.

I haven't tried rebooting yet, but I will say something is off with the current apt state.
I says it will update 3 packages:
Code: Select all
$ apt list --upgradable
Listing... Done
libsane-common/jammy,jammy 1.1.1-5 all [upgradable from: 1.0.29-0ubuntu5.2]
libsane/jammy 1.1.1-5 amd64 [upgradable from: 1.0.29-0ubuntu5.2]
sane-utils/jammy 1.1.1-5 amd64 [upgradable from: 1.0.29-0ubuntu5.2]

But cannot do so:
Code: Select all
$ pkcon update
Getting updates               [=========================]
Finished                      [=========================]
Loading cache                 [=========================]
Testing changes               [=========================]
Finished                      [=========================]
Fatal error: The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libsane: Depends: libsane-common (= 1.0.29-0ubuntu5.2) but 1.1.1-5 is to be installed
  libsane-common: Breaks: sane-utils (< 1.1.1-3~)
                  Breaks: sane-utils (< 1.1.1-3~)

Discover does say that no updates are available
Also all my third party lists are not visible in Discover anymore. It did warn that they'll be disabled for now, but the way it did it made it invisible to Discover (I did find them in /etc/apt waiting to be enabled again, but still).
And finally, I can't find the supposed new firefox apt repository, so I don't think all parts of the upgrade completed yet.

I have three Neon systems, two laptops and my desktop. Laptop one had Neon installed a few months ago, with regular updates, laptop two had Neon installed on it a couple of days ago, updated then, and today before the upgrade, and my desktop, which had Neon installed long ago, again regularly updated, then again prior to upgrade. Both laptops upgraded without problems, but my desktop gets the following two error windows during the upgrade:

First error window:
Code: Select all

Failed on upgrade , my system was unusable (couldn't get logs)
Tried fresh install , I have no folders on Home directory (only Desktop) , can't install any flatpak , dmesg is spammed by apparmor="DENIED" messages , only usable info I found is on booting something about "user" error
I know nothing above is helpful , will wait for next kde neon iso

This caught my eye. I didn't get any message concerning a networking error, but the only thing different between my laptops and my desktop is that I run a VPN on the desktop. I disabled the VPN and tried the upgrade again. This time it completed without any issue.

I did not get the upgrade notification.
What can I do to upgrade to 22.04?
Is there anyway to upgrade manually?

My network, particularly on my vm, was pretty well hosed after this upgrade.

I cannot get my system to stop randomizing the nic on my host system, for security reasons, this is not allowed on the network. I need to turn this off. The measures I have used to do this in the past, no longer work.

My qemu VM though is the biggest problem. It will not pass traffic. My bridge is up, and working... my tap device exists, and I've made no changes to the config file for that vm (not using libvirt). I updated virtio drivers, and played with various arguments to qemu-system-x86_64 for hours... it would not work.

My boot took forever because I have services trying to start before the network comes up (apparently).

My dhcp on my primary system was spotty too... sometimes it worked, other times, it didn't.

I spent a day and half trying to fix these things... I didn't move an inch on any of them... very frustrating. I wound up restoring from a backup. I had to get back to work... cannot afford that kind of downtime. I will try again in a few days.

Another thing, since the update the syslog gets spammed with systemd-resolved entries, to the point that the file is about 100GB after a days usage.
Adding my hardcoded DNS back in didn't work (chose to replace resolved config on update, that too had the problem).
Looking into it, it is VERY verbose, for every network requests many dozen entries. Did someone leave debug mode on?

On a possibly related note:
I've had many problems with disk space even shortly before the update, part of that reason was verbose debug build of libusb in my own program, but that's not important.
What's important is that even after clearing the log (some like ~/.xsession-errors), and now even after clearing syslog (sudo rm), dolphin still thinks the disk is 100% full, and commands agree, df agrees, but when I do du sorted, and substracting the space of my externally mounted drive, it isn't actually used by any file. A restart does fix it. Details:
df: 100% / du: 54.58%
after restart:
df: 52% / du: 54.58% (only around 1kb difference)
