HI All,

I just did a fresh install using neon-user-20221023-0714.iso and everything appears to be working as expected.

One thing that I do is symlink all of my important dot files in the home directory inside of another directory to make backups easier.

I created /home/my_user/mystuff/.mozilla and then symlinked it to my home directory
cd && mkdir -p /home/my_user/mystuff/.mozilla && ln -s /home/my_user/mystuff/.mozilla .

Now when I start mozilla, i get the bouncing orange fox for a couple of seconds and then a pop up dialogue with the following:

"Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To use Firefox, you must first close the existing firefox process, restart your device or use a different profile."

I did some searching on this and found that it's related to the .mozilla/firefox/profilename-default/.parentlock .

I verified that starting firefox does create this file and I am the owner.

clicking ok on the pop up dialogue doesn't remove this file. After I manually delete the file, same thing happens when i try to start up firefox again. (and the .parentlock file is back)

I have verified that this setup works on a fedora xfce sytem with the same version of firefox (106.0.1-1).

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.
