Hi,

since the last "release upgrade" one or two weeks ago (5.27) my plasma shell freezes every single day. My PC is online 24/7. I can restart it by ALT-F2 - killall plasmashell && kstart5 plasmashell. Any suggestions how to fix this major annoyance?

I am having the exact same issue on KDE Neon, on both my laptop and desktop. Apps remain responsive, just all Plasma elements die and the only way to regain functionality is to go into 2nd tty and restart it. I looked at dmesg but nothing out of the ordinary is happening.

How do you do this? In most cases the F2 method does not work ...

I do the commands outlined here, it doesn't always work since for me it sometimes hangs. But it's worth at try before a hard reboot.
