Good morning,
I have KDE for 6 months on a Lenovo laptop (dual boot kept with Windows). This morning by downloading a software (kolourpaint) the computer refused to launch it and then no button worked, I had to press the button to force the shutdown. Restarting didn't work, Linux started but then unable to access my profile. I tried safe mode trying to fix things, no more. Then I did "CTRL + ALT + F2 to activate a text session. enter the login and password. - run the following commands in order: sudo pkcon refresh sudo pkcon update sudo reboot" Updated muse stuck at 85% and then strictly unable to restart, black screen stuck at "unable to mount root" Is there a thing to do or is it hopeless? Was there an error on my part (I was just trying to download image editing software!)? I still have the key to reinstall but first I would like to understand so that it doesn't happen again. Sincerely, Wang |

The last error sounds like a kernel issue. Can you boot into safe mode again? If that is possible run your pkcon update commands again.
Also which edition are using (user, testing?) As that can explain different problems? |
