Greetings,
I recently installed KStars 2.7.10 on KDE Neon 5.10. The INDI and Ekos elements of the programs appear not to be present. The INDI toolbar is empty. The Ekos option is absent from the Tools menu. There are no options under Devices on the Tools menu. The INDI and Ekos options are entirely absent from the KStars configuration dialog. I can confirm that the INDI packages appear to be installed. I'm sure I've done something stupid, like not installed some required package, but the available documentation does not indicate that additional packages are needed. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Ed |

Dear all,
I just compiled KStars, Version 2.8.6 from git clone git://anongit.kde.org/kstars.git on Centos7, linux kernel 3.10.0-514.26.2.el7.x86_64 with KDE Frameworks 5.36.0 Qt 5.6.2 (built against 5.6.1) The xcb windowing system Furthermore, I tried also git clone git://github.com/KDE/kstars/tree/bleeding I tried both, the libindi-devel.x86_64, libindi.x86_64 (Version 1.2.0) from the Centos7 distribution and a self compiled indi-1.4.1. Both indi-Versions work fine with the older KStars Version 2.6.0 from the Centos7 distribution. My self compiled kstars 2.8.6 looks beautiful and behaves functional, but: Ekos and Indi are not available. Tools--> Devices does not show any menu entries. Settings--> Configure -- KStars does not show the entries INDI and Ekos. As the following objects were compiled from sources ./build/kstars/CMakeFiles/KStarsLib.dir/ekos_debug.cpp.o ./build/kstars/CMakeFiles/KStarsLib.dir/ekos_focus_debug.cpp.o ./build/kstars/CMakeFiles/KStarsLib.dir/ekos_guide_debug.cpp.o ./build/kstars/CMakeFiles/KStarsLib.dir/ekos_scheduler_debug.cpp.o ./build/kstars/CMakeFiles/KStarsLib.dir/ekos_capture_debug.cpp.o ./build/kstars/CMakeFiles/KStarsLib.dir/ekos_mount_debug.cpp.o ./build/kstars/CMakeFiles/KStarsLib.dir/ekos_align_debug.cpp.o , I assume, that Ekos is present in the sources. What's may be interesting: ccmake3 .. does not show any libindi configuration entries. Only after toggling to the "advanced mode", one sees the empty variables INDI_CLIENT_QT_LIBRARIES INDI_INCLUDE_DIR Assigning them reasonable values, reconfiguring, and recompiling does not change anything. The installed version(s) shows only the following Ekos files (find . -iname "*ekos*") ./share/kstars/wzekos.png ./share/doc/HTML/en/kstars/ekos_tab.png Therefore, I assume that the installation process "make install" ignores some parts needed for Ekos and Indi. Any ideas? Kind regards, Andreas |
