Plasma 5.18 Wallpaper Competition

Wed Dec 18, 2019 2:10 pm
Would you like to see your wallpaper on thousands of desktops (including on machines used at NASA and CERN) and also win a fantastic Tuxedo laptop? Well, you are in the right place.

The KDE community is looking for a beautiful wallpaper for the next version of our Plasma desktop, so we decided to organise a competition. This is it.

The winner will have their wallpaper included as the default background on KDE's upcoming Plasma 5.18 desktop. You will not only earn the admiration of thousands of Plasma users, but you will also win a very cool Tuxedo InfinityBook Pro 14 computer.

Design a brand new wallpaper (original work only!), create a new topic in this very subforum and post a low-res version of it (see Note below) and a link to the high-res version on the image hosting service of your choice (like postimage, or imgur, or imgbb), and we will grab your design and display it on our wiki for our judges before the 15th of January. Six wallpapers will be then selected for a second round that ends with a winner on the 22th of January.

Note regarding previews: We don't host images locally on the forum. Upload your preview to your favorite image-hosting service and use the 'img' tags to display it. The forum allows images of up to 720px wide.

Please read the rules and learn about the prizes here: ... ompetition

  • If you need inspiration, there's a gallery of prior wallpapers included with Plasma on the wiki page
  • Submit your masterpiece before midnight (UTC) on the 15th of January
